Who are Sunrise Morris?
Sunrise is a newly formed mixed border morris side.
As experienced dancers we feel that audiences benefit from high energy dances with un-usual or surprising twists and that the music plays an integral role during the performance.
It is our intention to entertain, involve and fascinate those who watch; for by encouraging audience feedback we can continually develop our style and perfect the experience for others.
During the late spring and early summer we can be seen dancing out on a Thursday night at a wide range of Cornish pubs. After a hectic performance we retire to the more restful activity of playing a wide range of live music often helped in the vocals by the audience, we may even do some requests!
Where are we based?
Sunrise border morris meet in Liskeard (Cornwall), from October to May, on a Thursday night, and practice from 20:00 to 22:00 hours; after which we disappear down to the old stag and play music derived from a wide variety of styles or influences.
The side's members come from a range of areas within cornwall and many travel long distances to enjoy their Thursday night sessions.
